Sree Siddaganga Mutt was established during 15th century A.D. According to history the mutt was established by 'Sri Gosala Siddeshwara Swamiji'. The 'Siddaganga' is the name came when one of the Saints exercised his spiritual power and made the pond let in one of the caves of the overhanging hillock adjoining the mutt.
Present Head of the Mutt: His Holiness Dr.Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji is the present Head of the Mutt, who assumed full responsibility in 1941 by Sree UddanaShivayogi.
Free Boarding Home
Sree Mutt provided free boarding home at mutt, it was started in the mutt in 1917, by Sree Uddana Swamiji with an intake of about 40 students belonging to all faiths and communities. When Dr.Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji assumed full responsibility in 1941 it was about 200. The ceaseless and untiring efforts of Sree Swamiji spread over 7 decades have resulted in the development of free boarding home. into its present magnitude accommodating more than 8000 children.
Dasoha in Mutt
Sree Swamiji's labor of love is what, in religious parlance, called Dasoha The sacred fire lit 100 years ago in the of mutt is still glowing bright feeding thousand of men and women in addition to feeding 8000 and odd student in free boarding home. and about thousand pilgrims a day who visit the mutt .
